Cannot send or receive texts from certain phone numbers

Hi All,

I recently tried to text several new acquaintances and found that the Android default Messages app would simply display the error: "Unfortunately, messages has stopped." and then shut down.

I asked my friend to try and text me. I did not receive a text nor did he get a bounceback or alert about the text not being received.

Two numbers that I know of that are not working are domestic numbers. One has a 408 area code while the other is 817.

Note: I can still send and receive calls from these numbers. It is simply texts that do not work.

also, most of my contacts can still send and receive texts from me.

This is strange.

Any Ideas?
