Hi, i recieved my samsung galaxy i7500 2 days ago but i havent been able to play youtube videos at all.
I read that the youtube app is 'broke' and tryed going to youtube by browser which also wouldnt play the video..
This made me think i was missing some sort of codec so i started converting mp4s on my computer and found that only converting to [H.264.MP4] works for my samsung.
So im wondering if theres some sort of codec i need to install on my phone like flash/divx/ k-lite codec pack to be able to watch youtube videos?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

hi iam also facing the same problem even i had installed flash player in my mobile but it is not for all videos in you tube some files can be vieved.

The best alternate is Instal youtube player from anderoid market then download the videos to your mobile & view through t he player.

I was talking with another Droid owner the other day, and he said that it's a software issue that won't allow all or some YouTube videos to play on our phones.

There's allegedly a fix coming out in the new update, whenever that may be?

Can anyone confirm this? I also get the "Unable To Play Media/Video" message.

depends on the OS version but this is true.
I havent found a droid eris that works with youtube yet since they pushed an update about a month ago i think.
i have probably tried about 7 eris's via friends phones

no problem on the regular droid 2.0.1

Its a problem with 1.5 I know HTC is working on it but I have no idea what Samsung is doing but I do have some tips for you.

First hold your finger on the video, wait for the menu to open and go to details then wait for the page to finish loading the related videos then tap the picture of the video the video should load.(although i hear it only works sometimes)

Another workaround is to select the video in the youtube app and wait for the rejection dialog box to pop up. Then with the pop up still up open the virtual keyboard. With the keyboard still up get ride of the rejection and as fast as you can type a few ( I have never heard and real amounts) characters and the video should play. The top of the videos thumbnail should still be visable after you clear the rejection message and I hear that its easiest in landscape mode.

You can also try just going to m.youtube.com instead or downloading the videos with the dolphin browser.

Unfortunately looks like youtube was broken for 1.5 when 2.1 rolled out. I guess they aren't rushing to fix it cause it only happens on on lower builds on less popular android phones. That and when you get updated the problem is solved so press Samsung for an update.

    Hope that helps

From the application information, i have access to Desire and Legend, both HLC flash player version is listed as 7. And I am disappeared that both 2.1 droid cant play H.264 encode flash clips.
So when will that 10.1 flash will be rolling out, which we all watched on youtube talking about so great with nexus one and 10.1 flash.

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or start a new posting since it pertains to youtube...I'm going for it!

I have the Droid Eris & was watching a youtube video. Somehow or another, it changed from Mobile viewing to Full Screen Desktop viewing. Do any of you have any ideas how to change it back to the Mobile view? I've looked everywhere I can to fix it but continously hit dead ends!

    Thanks in advance!

Type in m.youtube.com. It should bring up the mobile version.

    m.youtube.com doesn't work.

Hopefully they fix this soon (along with Flash 10), as I love this phone, but you'd have thought that they'd have these two features working before release.
