I cannot attach even the smallest (5 seconds) video to a text message I want to send someone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3. It says the file size is too large. Maximum reached. What possibly could be the maximum if I can't sent a 5 second video?

Video quality settings may be the issue here. When in the video camera application, change the settings for recording to lower resolutions, etc. This will reduce the file size the messaging application is trying to send. Experiment with the lowest usable setting. That should yield positive results for you.

100% agree. The stock MMS app detects the higher resolution and won't send the video. This seems to be a Verizon thing; not sure about other carriers.

Of course, you can always send it via email or a cloud-based storage link, such as Dropbox.
