so i plug in my phone into pc and i see both phone and sd card
but somehow when i try to move files from phone to card it says device is not connected?

it seems like i can only copy and paste on the phone itself, but can't do it on windows explorer on a pc
i can copy a file on pc and paste it onto the phone or card, just not between each other

It works fine on my GS2. I'm able to copy/move files between the two removable drives without a problem. I can't think why yours is different.

Yes through a PC. I did exactly what you stated in your first post - connected via USB and copied files from one drive to the other, in both directions.

Check folder properties to see if any are marked read-only.

Dunno what else to say - it works here just fine.

All I can suggest is copying the card contents to PC and reformatting the card in the phone, in case the file system is damaged.

Yes, but that shouldn't affect copying files between FAT32 volumes mounted on a PC as removable drives.

no it's hooked up thru a usb, not a direct mount
i'm guessing software on the phone does not allow transfer between 2 drives thru a usb. but if u r rooted it takes away that restriction

Mine transfers between the two quite happily, either in MTP mode, or if connecting via USB Mass Storage.

    Have you tried both modes?

If all else fails, you will have to take the card out and put it into a USB SD Card reader. A pain i know, but at least that should work as last resort.

ok i found out wut happened
i have been connecting the phone using usb and let the pc pick it up, i did not manually go to the phone's usb utility and connect from there
if i click connect, it works
but if i just plug in usb, it doenst

i just realized it does not work in MTP mode, which is auto detect
