I am trying to get the .mov files that my canon camera takes onto the tablet. I can connect the camera and copy the photos, but it doesn't see the movies. I can take the card out of the camera (its a MicroSD in an SD adapter) and put it in the tablet, but I can't copy the .mov files to that tablet. I can play them from the card, but I want to load them on the tablet and get them off the card. I can see them, but it won't let me move them onto the tablet. Can anyone help. I have to do this without a computer.

You should be able to copy them but not cut them. Are you using a file managrer?
Like ES File manager? Or one of the other ones?

What are you using to play the .MOV files on the a500? When I play MOV files recorded on my ContourHD helmet cam they play suuuuuuper slow. I have tried all the video players (hardware and software) and now just transcode them with Handbreak. I would prefer to just be able to plug in the SD card and review my videos without transcoding if possible.

Try MX video player I haven't used it a lot yet but it looked real smooth.

The only drag with that is you have to remember to delete the origional files when done.
I'm also.testing a program called file expert.I believe that one allows cut and paste.

I am using MX video player. Have not done extensive testing, but it seems good to me.

splatoid, let me know if you have success with file expert.

I tried file expert but when i use the cut feature and then paste it really just copied the folder. So I still end up with it in 2 locations and have to go back and delete the other one.

I can't copy MOV and MPG files from USB to MicroSD. JPG (JPEG) files copy perfectly as do my AOO documents. Android VLC plays the video files from the USB Thumb drive just fine. Problem is, I can't charge the battery and play the video at the same time :-(

This also makes the SDXC micro SD useless for me. I only got it to be able to watch recorded OTA (Over The Air) TV.

If I write the MOV and MPG files on the SDXC card from my PC and then insert the SDXC into my tablet, I can't see the MOV and MPG files from VLC, ES File Explorer, or the tablets built in file manager.
