Should i keep my X or return it and wait for the Fascinate?

I'm going to take a look at the D2 but I am eagerly awaiting the release date of the Fascinate! The fact that almost every other carrier in every other country has the Galaxy S available or has a release date set is extremely annoying and disappointing as a VZ customer. Release the phone already VZ!

IF it was July 15th, then definitely get the X
Now we are at the midpoint between X and Fascinate, also there is shipping delay with the X, hard to decide.

I returned my X within my 30 days i just want to wait and see what comes out in the next few months and supposedly with dual core phones coming out in nov or december i can wait a few extra months for something like that. I would stay away from samsung though they have a track record of making junk phones and not standing behind them for updates

I think verizon is waiting after how samsung hurt them with the incredibles by not producing screens fast enough while focusing on their own phones so maybe verizon is going to wait as long as possible to try and spite samsung

I doubt it's spite. Samsung has a long history of releasing buggy phones and then taking forever to fix them (sometimes they don't even fix them!) I am sure Verizon is making sure that the bugs of the GSM version are resolved on the Fascinate.

You guys are all right. Im keeping the X!

Probably not a bad decision. I had the Vibrant on T-Mobile before I switched to Verizon and the Droid X. The Droid X is better or equal then the Vibrant in every way except in screen quality and video codec support. I also felt the Samsung was a better size but thats a personal thing as I know many people have larger hands then I do and would prefer the larger screen.

I am really excited about the Fascinate but I do already have a Droid X and I am liking it. I bought a Samsung Glyde a few years ago and I have to say that was the worst phone I have ever owned. I used a Moment for a couple weeks and while Samsungs quality has improved it is still not good enough to make me want to buy a phone that I am going to be stuck with for awhile. Samsung TVs are amazing but I cant say the same about the phones they make.

I have a samsung alias, and its a great phone. If you don't like samsung, np, but they make some nice stuff and they make many of the internals of the other phones you would buy anyway.

I keep going back and forth. Just when i think im gonna return the X i read something else that makes me think the Fascinate may be a bad idea because i am extremely happy with my X. I would like to be able to customize it a little more with roms like i could with the Fascinate. My biggest worries right now are reception for 3G, voice and GPS and lack of support down the road.

They have launched this phone around the WORLD. It is Samsung's flagship phone. Do you really think they aren't going to support it? Plenty of people have had problems with the X. Plenty of people with have problems with the Fascinate. No phone is/will be perfect. If you are happy with the X why switch? Personally I have no interest in the X. Its to big, the screen technology is a generation behind, and the GPU is inferior.

The screen is actually really nice but its a little big. Eventhough im used to it now I think I still want something a little smaller.

Well, I ordered a D2 today. If during the next 30 days Samsung or some noble soul comes up with a fix for the Galaxy S GPS and demonstrates that it's not a hardware issue then I'll return the D2 and wait for the Fascinate. It's a much nicer phone once the lag is fixed but no GPS is a deal breaker for me.

Do you have a link to a fix that isn't some variation of screwing around with the AGPS service? Because that hasn't been working for everyone and isn't actually a working GPS anyway.

It's the poor accuracy and continuously dropped signals I'm worried about. I could stand in the verizon store with the X or original droid and both would put me right on top of the satellite picture of the building with consistent accuracy and a continuous lock. The Samsung I handled couldn't get a lock at all on the same afternoon, 2 miles away.

The Samsung is a beautiful phone, and it is capable of absolutely crushing the X or D2 in benchmarks. I'd love to have it, but no GPS is a deal breaker.

In my humble opinion, every phone has its problem. Some problems are widespread and some are not. For example, many people have complained about the BlackBerry storm for freezing up and keyboard problem. But I don't have any of such issue with my Storm. The only reason why I want to replace it is because the technology is getting obsoleted.

Samsung has surpassed Sony as the number 1 electronic maker in the world. they are banking a lot of the Galaxy S and they have a big push of Android devices after this, including an Android tablet. Therefore, I don't think they will take this very lightly.

I checked out the X at the Verizon store. It is no doubt a great device. However, I don't like the finish. It does not look like a high end device like the iPhone or the EVO. And the 4 hardware buttons at the bottom also feel very cheap.

Since my NE2 won't be up until October. So I will sit on the fence and see what will end up to be the best Android device in October. :D

This is where subjectivity and personal preference come into play as I feel exactly the opposite about the aesthetic aspects and prefer the hardware buttons on the Droid X. And that's why it is so nice to have a choice!

That's so wonderful about this great land of ours. We can agree and disagree without killing each other like some other parts of the world. :)
