It would help if you stated the actual name of the app in question. Is the app Newsbreak, or News Break, or are you just using the name as a generic reference?
If the app was preinstalled and was already on your phone when you first got it, it will be more work to actually Uninstall it. You should be able to at least use the Disable option to deactivate it. At that point the app becomes inert and is no longer usable nor using up any system resources, unless you later Enable it again.
But if the app is something you installed previously, there shouldn't be problem with just Uninstalling it. If you cannot, that would indicate there is a problem to look into.
