can't find flash for camera. true? no flash? thanks.
The Ascend does not have a flash for the camera, this is true..
Is this a real question? No there is not an invisible flash for the camera.
Its true. The Ascend has no flash and has one of the worst cameras I have ever seen.
Eh, I do not think its to bad..works for me. Sure it's not awsome, but I have seen worse.
I bring up two valid points, again.
1. This is a ~$100 phone, don't expect miracles or tons of features.
2. If you really need good quality pictures, even a $100 digital camera will take better pictures than your phone, so why are you using a phone to take important pictures?
The Optimus is currently on $50 more after rebate, and the camera is WAYYYYYYY better.... take it from me... I just had as ascend, and the camera sucked....video sucked...my mouth wasn't even movie with what I was saying, it was a lil delayed,, but the Optimus runs circles around the ascend.. the camera is amazing... LG made a way better camera.... so if you want a nice camera, just pay the 50 more, and you'll have a faster phone too, but no flash on the optimus either, but if you put it in night mode, it makes it a little brighter
I will never ever buy another phone without a good camera with auto focus and flash. I have a great camera but I don't always have it with me, like I do my phone. Many times since I got the Ascend I have wanted to take a pic but didn't cause of the lousy camera. If there's one thing I dislike the most about my Ascend (which I totally overall love) it would be the camera.
The cheap Nikon takes better pictures than the Optimus and the price difference between the ascend and the optimus is about the same. ;}
My LG Dare I used to have took excellent pics. And it had a program with it where you could do all these really cool things to your pics. I should have kept that phone just for the camera. LOL
I don't know why the Optimus wouldn't be just as good. After all...it's LG!
Is there anyway to make the camera brighter? I know there are the color options but none of them actually make the picture lighter. Please tell me there is at least a way to make it brighter lol
There are apps you can download to try and edit pictures, but I don't know the names or how well they work.
Coming from a DSLR, I don't even bother with the phones built in camera. You are limited to a tiny sensor in the phone, and a plastic lens. What does this phone have? 3mp images?
In my opinion, they could have built this phone without a camera and I would be just as happy, if not happier. I carry a camera with me 24/7 anyways. I have no use for it on the phone. In fact, leave the camera out, and increase the max limit on SD card size.
The camera would work a lot better if there was a flash built in, as they say pictures taken in daylight aren't all that bad. Anything indoors will suffer from extreme graininess though, and the other problem is that the camera doesn't autofocus.
Sorry but nope no flash.
Come on Gmash. Don't pick on the poor girl. Not everyone knows what a flash looks like on a cell phone. The salesperson (not knowing any better or not caring) may have told her that it had one when she bought it and she's looking for it and can't find it. She's obviously new to the forum and is here looking for help. Don't make her feel bad for asking something. The only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked. We're here to get help and help others when we can.
Blast. Thank you. We spent $100 for our phone and got a REALLY good deal for the money. And the camera isn't that bad for a phone. I've had far worse. Yes a flash would be nice but this is a phone first.
I'm just going to vent. I don't understand people who buy an inexpensive phone and then complain about the camera. If you wanted a better camera, you should have bought a better/different phone. This is not rocket science. I have news for you: the world is what it is, not what you'd like it to be.
As was pointed out previously in this thread, the OP might not have known it didn't come with a flash, or could have been misinformed. Aside from that, yes, I do have issues when people specifically expect far more for their dollar than they are willing to shell out. Nothing is free, as they say, and things of quality typically come at a premium.
Sorry if I'm a big meanie, but surely if the lady was smart enough to get on her smartphone, connect to the internet, find this forum, and leave a message, she could have looked at the back of her phone and saw there was no flash on there.
Or she could be a young girl (veggieGRRL, some names aren't totally fake) who was given the phone and like most 7 year olds these days knows how to use the internet (I was lucky to have a 2400 baud modem growing up, but I've seen 5 year olds that know how to surf the net). And this is the first cell phone (that had a camera) that didn't have a flash. I just assumed that it did (I was wrong of course). It wasn't until I actually used the camera and noticed there wasn't a flash setting that I actually looked for it. Oh well. That's why they make pure cameras to take really good pictures.
I just would hate for someone new here to be afraid to ask anymore questions. And for some people asking is the hardest thing to do in the world.
my fiance asked me if my phone had a flash while looking directly at the camera trying to get a speck of dirt off of it. lol.
i asked if her iphone 3gs had live wallpapers.
she threw my phone at me.
Point taken. That post was a month ago, and I have tried to cut back on the sarcasm since then.
veggieGRRRL, if you are reading this, i apologize if I offended you. I really wasn't trying to be mean spirited.
I was mad until I found an app called Picsay.....I works wonders.
Picsay and Photofunia are my favorite apps. ^^.
