You can't flash a ota update without having the stock recovery image.

I have stock recovery. When I go to ota I get the old update 2.04.1050.5 after re locking the bootloader and I can't even do that ota. Tried to flash a zip from xda for 4.2 but it just fails

Just put the files in a folder and move the folder to your TWRP backups
