I'm having problems getting into recovery mode. Everytime i highlight recovery and press the power button to get into recovery, my phone goes straight to fast boot. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling rom manager but that didn't help. I also tried flashing older clockworks in rom manager but get a pop up saying "an error has occurred while downloading." Does anyone know what else I can do? cm7

True. I didn't think of that, but it looks like he was indeed S-OFF.

Not a bad guess though - if you have messed up recovery you probably needed S-OFF to do it.

theres been some wierd issues with recoveries and 2.3 ive seen on xda. was when 2.3 was first ported to desire but still recoveries were randomly deleting themselves whether s-off or not

Nasty - easy to fix if S-Off, but not nice at all otherwise.

Recovery isn't essential to the s-off process at least
