My brother screwed up when he rooted his phone, and now I can't even get to the home screen. Is there a way to bypass the home screen and go straight to the setting menu? I can use the lock screen to get to phone, messaging, etc.

when you are at the lockscreen just drag the notification down from the top and click the gear symbol or setting icon

Or even use adb to enable everything I need to so I can sideload apps.

What exactly are you trying to change in settings? If you cant get to your home screen than what is happening when you unlock the phone?

I'm trying to enable sideloading so I can install recovery, and install a custom rom.

When I unlock my phone it says Unfortunately, Home has stopped. With only Ok as an option. Clicking ok repeats the message to infinity.

It sounds like the launcher has been removed. Go to play store on your PC and log in with the same account that's on the phone.

Once logged in go to nova launcher and click install. This will install it directly to your phone. Once installed you should be able to get into your phone.

I'm okay with a factory reset or anything that will get the phone back to factory settings.

Unfortunately there is no Play account associated with this phone right now. I tried a factory reset through settings to fix the issue, and it didn't fix it.

This little gear. I know it's the same on the spirit. uploadfromtaptalk1375394575477.jpg
You use it to get to the settings. From their, you can add a Google account. And enable unknown sources.

Yup. GT sounds right on point. I've done that before. Lol. If that doesn't work than factory reset from.power off since it sounds like you dont have a recovery or kernel installed yet.

Yeah, my status bar isn't working, so I can't get to that gear. I'll do what GT said. How do you do a factory reset from power off though?

Take the battery out and put it back in. Hold Volume Down and Power at the same time. Don't let go until you see a reset screen. Than let go of both and press Power to confirm. Follow prompts.

You could also use the quick memo screen shot. Press vol+vol- at the same time. Click the share button and choose gmail, from there you should be able to access a link to any website. Open that and then can download the lte 2nd init recovery from this forum. Install it, if it tells you you have to enable unknown sources it will give you the options to go into settings at least now you can enable adB. If not now you have a recovery.
