I go into the calendar app, not widget and go to my calendars and try to add calendars and the box that pops up has no options. It's starting to bug me because I want to add the holidays and Facebook birthdays.

You may have to do it through calendar.google.com. It'll push the updates to your phone. That's the way I did it.

yes. log into your calendar online and go to other calendars>add

You should be able to find the US Holidays there.

Can you give me more details on how to do that? I've never messed with Google calendars

Once you log in, there should be a link that says "Add" at the bottom left side of the screen. Click "Add" then click "Browse Interesting Calendars." From there, there should be a list of different calendars you can add to your existing calendar.
