Help can't hear alerts

I formatted my SD card and now I can't hear my ringer. In fact, all my sounds are messed up. The ringer on the side of phone is all the way up, as is the volume in my settings. What have I done?

try going in to the settings and selecting a new ring tone, it might be that it can not find it so it does not play anything

I just turned the phone off, removed the battery, put it back in, and turned it back on. Problem solved.
