Can't post links or anything, but followed directions on xda... thread called

    "[NC][1.2][1.3] ManualNooter 4.6.16"

Anyway, used the WinImage to make the CWM bootable card

copied over the zip files for Manual Nooter 16 and 18

Inserted card into my Nook Color with stock 1.3 software (or however you call it)
Plugged into computer (It turned on)
Ran through the directions, ran the zip files (running 18 first, then 16)...
    Removed card
    Rebooted through the CWM

Now it just keeps cycling through this boot screen...

writes out "nook color" in white outlines, then the "nook" part disappears, replaced with the B&N "n" and the color part displays a rainbow of animated color

little android icon in the bottom right

    Not going anyway
Have tried rebooting a few times with and without card in slot.

    Help me out!!?

Did you let it run for at least 5 minutes?

What rom version were you running? Newest one (1.4.1) or 1.3?

Not sure if I let it run for 5 minutes, but did go for a while... can try letting it go 10 minutes.

And when I looked into the settings on my nook it was 1.3

Tried letting it run for about 10 minutes... twice. didn't work.

I think I should just redo all of the steps? How can I get that memory card back to it's factory state? Can I just plug it into my memory card reader on my laptop and format the disc? Will that mess anything up on the nook?

Did you have anything else loaded (e.g. Cyanogenmod) on the device previously? Were you flashing 1.3, or just rooting a new device?

The reason I'm asking is that this problem is common when trying to restore B&N firmware after loading something else on the device.

Can't hurt to try it again, of course. God luck with it.

Sorry, new to the lingo.. not sure what Cyanogenmod is.

It was basically brand new, I had downloaded a few free apps and a few book samples on there, but that's it.

Did you flash 16, reboot and flash 18? That's my interpretation of how it's supposed to work.

At this time, you might try returning back to stock, update it to 1.4.1 and try it again.

okay i really hope i don't look like an idiot to you guys...

anyway, i formatted my SD card.
redid the instructions on making it CWM bootable
put the file on there to update back to stock 1.3 (without keeping cwm)
ran ^that^ zip file, took out card, rebooted through CWM menu

and still at the same point as my first post..... :(

okay, saw the instructions about formatting here on
    http://androidforums.com/nookcolor-...how-return-stock-upgrade-stock-b-n-1-2-a.html

so I decided to follow those. followed everything there but instead of using the file they said there, I used the stock 1.3 that I downloaded earlier...

now the touch screen is unresponsive... ARRRGGGGHHHHHH

this wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have to get up so early tomorrow (doh! i mean today....)

No reason to reformat the sdcard if it's 3.2.0.1 and it boots. Try it again (and format data again).

It worked great the last time I flashed 1.3 with the 1.2 directions.

I did try it twice, following the directions and wiping data, cache, and system and clearing the dalvik cache, then flashing the 1.3 B&N zip file, but still didn't work.

I will try once more and if it still doesn't work, I will try flashing it to an older version

thanks again for all the help... i really do appreciate it. just wish it wasn't all so complicated for me! haha

Maybe you need to redownload your 1.3 file and try again.

Was there an error when you flashed it?

    Any error after formatting data?

used a different file to restore back to 1.3 and i'm all good..

when I go settings, device info, about my NOOKcolor, it shows that I have 1.3.0 Software

Going to retry everything to root it again now... after updating to 1.4.1 and formatting my SD card and making sure every step is right

    wish me luck!

WELL DAG NABIT I THINK I GOT IT!!!!

How do I know if I got the "full list of applications" when I pull up the marketplace?

Also, anything else I need to do after it's rooted? I got my gmail account linked up with the marketplace... what else?
