    ... from the home screen.

Yes, I am aware of how it is supposed to work and I have searched the other threads. Normally you press and hold until you get a little vibration feedback, the shortcut highlights, and you drag it to the Remove button. However, for some of my shortcuts this simply does not work. No matter how many times I have tried, each time I click on the shortcut it simply launches the app. I have tried killing the app beforehand but nothing seems to work. Argh....

I am using the Sprint HTC Hero. I have had it for 2-3 weeks. I love it, but this is driving me crazy.

    TIA.

Which apps is it doing it with? All apps, only 1x1 shortcuts, or widgets too? Have you tried switching Scenes?

Mine seem to all be working ok.

Most widgets seems to be working OK. I am not sure what you mean by 1x1 shortcuts.

I am having trouble with the following apps:

    PDAnet
    Key Ring
    Sprint Navigation
    Google voice search
    voice mail
    Browser
    etc.

1x1 shortcuts are the standard shortcut icon. Where the Clock/Weather widget that come stock would be a 4x2 (or 2x4?) widget. It means how many spaces on the home screen it takes up, ie 1 wide by 1 tall. (1x1)

I havent had this problem with any of the listed shortcuts.

    - Is your phone firmware up to date?
    - Have you tried switching scenes? Try clean slate, it starts you with only 5 total items. Upon switching scenes are the same icons having the same problem?
    - Has it always done this, or did it start later?

I had a similar problem occur once before.

I rebooted the phone and the problem was solved. Hasn't occurred since.

This was the ticket. I called Sprint and they said to do a "soft-reset". With the power on, you remove the battery, wait 15 seconds, and turn the phone back on. Works like a charm now.
