Help Can't restore backup

I did a backup because I needed to do a master reset on my phone now when I try to restore it says I have no backup file to load but if I go into my google drive I see the go SMS file how do I restore my texts

Deleted texts are gone, unless you have some sort of incremental backup. By default, there is no un-delete or trash can or recycle bin with Android. As far as restoring your old texts from the backup file, my guess is that the backup app is looking for a specific path and not finding it in your Google drive location. If you know the path for the backup app, try copying the SMS file there. Then see if restore sees it.

I tried that and it shows up in my file manager but not thru my app.....

You might try contacting the developer of the backup app. They'll have a lot more insight into what might be going wrong.
