I recently uninswtalled and reinstalled K9. Now I camn see all my inboxes, but nothing in any of my folders for any account.

Can anyone help me recover those folder contents?

These are gmail imap accounts, so I assumed that my sent folder would autofill

    Thanks for any help

This is for my wife, actually. She is also using K9 and is finding that from time to time, her emails are not sent, but just sit in the Outbox. Thnis happens even though her Android has WiFi and therefore internet.

I helped her set up the app, and I have no trouble at all on my android.

Any ideas anyone? I have looked a lot, but most questions are just a bit different, or the suggestionsw have not helped me.

    Thanks for any help

I've merged both questions into one topic Nick, to make it easier for you to track and respond to suggestions.

With regards to your folder view issue, have you checked with any other mail clients e.g. webmail if available to see that the IMAP folder contents are visible in them? That at least rules out server-side problems.

As to your wife's unsent mail problem.... are the recipients random, or does it occur only with certain addressees?

    Thanks for the reply.

Not sure I am happy with the merging, as I reckon people are less likely to see the second post as a request for help and maybe even a bit confusing.

I will check out the ideas you have suggested, although the Sent folder issues has happened on a non-gmail folder as well, I realised after.

Now I can't see how to get to my gmail webmail in my browser! Arrgh!

My wife's non-sent emails go (or do not go) to random people.

I just asked for the "desktop" version of my browser and there was gmail! Why is stuff obscured so much in Android? Bah.

However....when I went to webmail, the Sent folder is full.

So are you missing the send emails that you have previously sent?

Or just the folders where you keep certain emails filed away?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I was missing previously sent emails. I just found about 2 minutes ago that I had to manually load them the first time.

I am hoping that was just the first time. I don't remember if I had to do that on the original install, but it seems a bit weird.

After you load them once it should keep them on there indefinitely, unless you reload the app once more.

This is typically how I know it works for most Email applications.

Glad you were able to find out the issue and get it solved :)
