I have the Eris with Verizon and my wife has the Hero with Sprint. Something happened a couple days ago where I can't text her anymore. I can call her and email her. And she can text me, but I can't reply or originate a text.

I have deleted her from gmail contacts and phone contacts and re-entered her info fresh several times. Still nothing.

I updated to os 2.1, but this happened days after that.

Anyone having this issue too? Is it on my end or her end?

Thanks

Make sure her phone number is listed as Mobile, and not Home or Work.

What do you mean you can't reply? Are you using the stock messaging app?
Try hadncent.
I ask because there isn't a reply button.
You said she can text you...right?
The means that when you're reading her text, right below is a text box. Just start typing an hit send.

Yes, using stock app. Never had a problem before.
Yes, can text others. Also have tried manually entering her #. No good. Can receive her texts but she gets none of mine.

This may have happened when I hit "link" to Facebook. But I have since deleted her from contacts and then re-entered all info.

.

Just noticed this. So your phone sends the message... right?

Think the problem might be on her end.
Do this:

Send a message to multiple people. Does everyone else get it except your wife? If so... i would say there is nothing wrong on your end.

I can do everything from look her up, type and hit send. All the things I do for the people who get my messages. She just doesn't receive them.

I had "sent notification" checked and it showed that they were sending. I now have "failure notification" checked and "received notification" checked. No reports from either one.

Yeah. sounds like it's definately on her end.
Did you try sending the same message to multiple people?
That would indicate that your eris is doing everything right.

Next step: Figure out why your wife blocked your messages:D

Just sent to 3 people at same time. Two of the three got it.

I am starting to get a complex that maybe she blocked me on purpose. But we're only married for 4 months, so I would hope I'm not blocked yet!

I'm pretty sure it's on her end, but haven't figured out how to block/unblock texts. Where is that on a Sprint Hero?

Also, can you just block texts but allow phone and email to go through?

lol...
You should have at least another 4 months before you're blocked on purpose:D

Different phones have different options. Althought the hero and Eris are pretty similar... you never know. There might be a way to block messages.
I would post this question on the hero forum.

Also, go through her settings on her actual messaging app. Maybe it happened in there

Problem solved, sort of. My wife rebooted her phone and, voila! Why I didn't think of that, I don't know.

However, we still don't know what happened to start with.

I just figured out that I can black list someone. Simply hold down their thread, and blacklist option will come up.

Maybe this is what happened?

I found out that the phone number that was on the one contact that was inputed from Facebook (that can't be edited) had a (+) symbol in front of the number. I just added the same phone number to the contact (with out the (+) symbol) and the texted went through with no problem.
