*I dont even know what this update is for, I can't find anything on it.*

So I found out that on the 25th or 26th there was an update for the Verizon GS3. Every time I try to update, it gives me this error (see below) after it reboots. I should also probably note that when it reboots, you briefly see "Booting into recovery" in the top left corner, though it doesn't actually boot into recovery. I was rooted, but I did a full unroot with SuperSU, and it still doesn't work. I dont want to flash a stock image because of all my app data that I do not want to lose.

Here is what the update screen looks like:

And after the update:

Scroll down a little bit on that same box:

Please someone help me! This is driving me crazy!

I would root again and flash update. I pulled the update file from download location and manually installed in cwm recovery. I was running mb3 with md1 radios after radio probs. I was having issues getting it to run update automatically. At some point i had mf1 radios on md3 build. Installing update. Zip manually did the trick for me. Cwmr even kept root during.
I did not have to flash entire image. I was on all stock though.

Can you provide me with a link for the update? Also, I *was* on stock rooted. And if you mind telling me what this update is for? 4.2? I'll try what you said tomorrow because I don't have access to my pc today.

Ugh. I'm a bit worried now. I cant even root now. My device isn't showing up on my PC(sometimes it does) and in odin it says failed every time I try to flash something.

So its been about 3 months now. Problem still persists. Again, I can not flash anything with ODIN(307), or update the phone. I have tried with Kies and in the phone. I can boot into download mode and recovery mode fine. Any help would again be greatly appreciated. I don't have access to my pc atm but any suggestions are still appreciated.

*The phone runs flawlessly, I just want to be able to root again :(*

Been on this for about 10mins, videos I have seen have done nearly instantly. I don't want to disconnect anything...

Nup, still not working. Any more suggestions?

So far I have tried:
Odin(for root)
Kies(for updating)
Casual
Uninstalling kies/drivers and reinstalling and retrying all
All recognize the device, but nothing happens.

I've got nothing else mate.

Maybe open a thread over on XDA - a problem shared 'n all that!

One last try.....

I'm not sure if you are rooted or not? I don't think you are, but check this.

Go into settings > about phone > and repeatedly press 'Build Number' and see if it gives you access to developer settings.

If it does go to settings > developer options and set root access to Apps and ADB.

If that doesn't work I'm at a loss.
