Root Can't update Google Search and Market...help!

    I'm running Apex 2.0 RC4. For some reason I cannot update Market (I'm on v3.1.5) and I can't update Google Search. For Search, I get an error message that my current version is not signed properly.

    Can someone help me? Thanks.

    I went ahead and deleted the Search apk and installed the new one. But...when I press the search hard key, nothing happens. How can I reassign the new Search to the hard key?

    i think that may have been an issue for fab setting it up
    he had to do the apk himself, and modified the search button to use the apk he had

    no offense but your the first person i know to actually use the search button :p
    i just open the browser and go about it that way

    Thanks for the feedback. I recall Fab saying something to that effect. I use that hard key all the time. It's so convenient to just press the key and do a search.

    Any thoughts on why I can't update the Market?

    btw...thanks for the response. I was worried that the DX was abandoned here in the forums!

    as long as im on these forums, the dx will never die, its just all the hype with the galaxy nexus is all, that and there arent many issues out of the DX anymore because its just that good of a device. the market now im not sure, you might want to send fab a message about that, do you not see the music tab in the market? is that why you think it isnt updated? i dont ever pay attention to the market much anymore lol.

    Correct...there's no music tab and no way to purchase music through the version that I have.

    try and go into applications and locate the market app through manage applications, and delete the data and or cache from it, then power off the device, and remove the battery for say 15 seconds, and put it back in, and power on the device, hopefully it will prompt you to download the market, it might also be an issue with his market, you can try sending him a private message, he is usually really good about returning questions
