cant use keyboard. (process com.android.inputmethod.latin) has stopped unexpectedly

HELP. I just got a htc magic... i cant use the keyboard because the message - The application android keyboard (process com.android.inputmethod.latin) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. i cant do anything but hit the "force close" and when i do the keboard underneath that message dissapears. what do i do to keep my keyboard fro doing that so i can use it ? I cant type anything !!

Try wiping data
I wish I could offer more assistance but that might solve the problem if it works you should download a different keyboard

THIS FIXED IT FOR ME!!!! Go to Settings > About Device > System Updates > Install system update > From NAND Storage > Install Now > On the install screen select "wipe cache partition" then select "reboot system now"

This is how you fix it. install superuser and titanium root and backup grant super user permissions open titanium go to back up and delete android keyboard and you will not see any more alerts. just download a keyboard of your preferance. let me know how it goes hope it helps.
