My captivate is really nice, but my one gripe is the buttons on the bottom. They dont stay lit very long at all and on my phone, I have to press repeatedly to get them to recognize my touch... especially the back button.

Should I exchange my unit or is this typical?

Is there anyway to get them to stay lit longer?

This is typical, a common complaint, and there is no known solution yet. Sorry.

Just press a little harder is all I can recommend. Since there are only 4 buttons, eventually, your muscle memory will take over :) You'll know where to hit the button even if it's not lit.

I've had the phone for a few days and I've already memorized the locations of the buttons. The buttons don't require precision to select, so its not too bad. Give it a few days and you'll forget about this issue completely :)

I know the order of the buttons but with no tactile feedback, it's hard to nail them directly center when trying to press them in the dark. I'm always having to touch the screen first to get them to light.
