I just upgraded from my iPhone 3g to a Captivate for $69.99 with free 2-day shipping on Amazon.com. I thought it was one of the better deals I have seen both locally and on the net. I just figured I'd share the goodness. Also, this is my first Android phone. Any quick tips (favorite mods, favorite apps, etc.)?

well if you want to root and speed up the phone some id say go to the android market and search "oclf". its an app that lets you root right from the phone and also gives you the option to install the lag fix, its free also so it doesnt get any better. you may not want to root though.

No way I'd buy this device online. Too many issues..and who wants to have to return thru UPS? Much better option to walk into a bricks & mortar store and tell them to take it back

There is no "the" lag fix. The OCLF has one person's take on a hack to address lag... and it's not one of the better ones. There are many others, and all have issues/downsides.

The OCLF app is a convenient way to root, but I wouldn't use it for anything else.
