Help Captivate Issues - Opinions and Fixes?

So I'm getting a new phone relatively soon (unless I see news about the Motorola Olympus!). I'm an avid BB user, so the Captivate will be extremely nice and quick, but as of late I've been playing around with my girlfriends Captivate and have found a few things that I'm wondering if there's a fix for:

1) CALENDAR; I put EVERYTHING in my calendar and have it sync with Gmail. My issue is that the default setting is to place the event under "My Calendar," which does not sync with Gmail. Is there a way to set the default calendar to my Gmail calendar? Although it's a small issue, it would get annoying relatively quickly.

2) GPS; I use my GPS all the time. I know there are a lot of forum topics regarding this issue (and I have trolled a few), but since I don't have the device I can't experiment with it. Is it, or will it, be officially fixed?

3) My girlfriends WiFi doesn't automatically connect upon entering a new WiFi area; is this always how it is, or is there a fix?

Lastly, I guess my biggest question is this: should I wait for the proposed Motorola Olympus phone, or go ahead and get the Captivate even if the aforementioned issues aren't fixed? :D

Thanks

Only Samsung knows and they switch between vague promises, pretending to know nothing, and talking like it's already been fixed.

Not sure. Mine works fine so it's not a universal problem.
