Cast wont work with my laptop. Is there another way?

I have windows 10 and have the connections app visible and on and the 'smart view' in but they cannot find each other.

Is there a good alternative? Via a direct WiFi conenction? Bluetooth? I don't have internet while I'm working in rural areas but, as big as the note is, I want a larger screen to look at. Yeah, I'm greedy.
