I am on a rooted stock ROM and I noticed that the voicemail notification comes about 20 hours late, after receiving a voicemail. After looking into it, I found out that the voicemail notification app that came with the evo 3d says that it is only for GSM phones, while mine is CDMA. Also, I looked on the android market and found no other voicemail notification apps. Is there a way around this?

I don't know how in the world it would work at all, but all I can think of is it sounds like you may have flashed a GSM stock ROM instead of a CDMA one. DonB posted a link to the latest stock CDMA ROM in the rooting section, or you could try CleanROM, which is based on stock but with bloat removed. I use it and am very happy with it.
