    And once the Engineering bootloader is leaked, we'll have a full root on our hands very shortly after.

    Also, there isn't a camera button on it.

    Those pictures that were reported to be the "Rider" looked exactly like the 3D, I'm wondering if the pictures of the "Kingdom" and "Rider" got switched because this doesn't look like the other pics of the 3D

    According to this article, the image on the left is the Incredible S, and the one on the right is the Evo 3D. If this is correct, then the Kingdom is the Inc S, and Rider is Evo 3D. But we have a ROM leak named Kingdom w/ Sprint and WiMAX all over it. So looks like the source from this article got it backwards.

    [IMG]

    So... Evo/Kingdom is the red one... and Incredible/Rider is the black one. The chrome trim around the black phone image is consistent with other pics of the Inc S. And is that speck on the lower right edge of the red phone a shutter button?

    If you click the links to the sources (1) and (2) in that article, you can actually download the leaked ROMs for both devices. (2) is for the Rider, and the filename is Rider_KT_KR_1.27.1010.0_Radio_10.10.9006.29_M_test_188624.zip.

    Kinda gives this site some credibility, although I'm curious why it thinks Kingdom is more likely a Thunderbolt sibling.

    Would Sprint disperse their offerings over so many similar phones? If so, would it be to drive market share? If so - does that even make sense???

    Hmmm - that was linked elsewhere a day or two back. I never noticed the significance of the download. :p

    I'm sure it is the 3D, but some of the settings in the build.prop showed different specs, and I think that's what had ppl thinking it was a different phone, but cmon, Sprints not gonna launch 2 similar phones....

    from the build.prop:

    # Following property will be reference by Settings.
    ro.product.processor = 1.2 GHz
    ro.product.ram = 768MB (EVO 3D will have 1GB RAM)
    ro.product.display_resolution = 4 inch QHD resolution (EVO 3D will have 4.3" screen)
    ro.product.main_camera = 5M
    ro.product.front_camera = 1.3M
    ro.product.bluetooth = 3.0
    ro.product.wifi = 802.11 b/g/n

    this was a "test" system dump, so who knows, could just be typos

    Tipped to Phandroid, requested Sauske and sikclown be given credit for the tip. ;)

    This would make it like a jump-up from the Evo Shift (maybe without the keyboard).

    No the specs are different from Incredible S if you compare the two

    So they are a little different, good call on the spec comparisons, I was just going by the look of them and memory and I thought it was pretty close to the same.

    So is this a good thing? Would people turned off by Evo 3D go for this instead of Nexus? HTC cranks out a LOT of phones, and I think a lot of times there's not much differentiation between them.... too much choice?

    I think it will fill a void that is out there on Sprint right now, a Sense phone that isn't 4.3 and doesn't have a keyboard. Some people think 4.3 is too big (crazy people that is) and this would be a great phone for those people but still wanted the Sense experience, especially since it will have Sense 3.0, which is a huge upgrade in my opinion over the older versions.

    I think it is a good thing... And the biggest thing I saw in the specs is that it will be a World Phone (keeping fingers crossed) based on the chipset. Sprint needs an Android World phone with WiMax no less.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but this will be Sprint's first Android world phone, right?

    If so, there are lot's of people that needed that feature that will be dropping blackberries left and right when this comes out.

    Could be a worldphone, but let's go WAY slow on that assumption.

    The QSD8650 we all sport in Evos can control either GSM or CDMA, but only the CDMA radio is included - the Nexus One used the QSD8250. Similarly, the MSM7230 is GSM control only, MSM7630 (same as the Evo Shift) can control GSM or CDMA.

    Has a 2 in the second digit vs. has a 6 in the second digit - this seems standardized by Qualcomm.

    Yeah I got a little excited. Overly excited actually. I have now slowed way down but still keeping my fingers crossed.

    Yes and no. Thanks to the tyranny of US carriers and our lack of any interoperability standards, the over-done smorgasbord is the result.

    HTC has lots of phones - how many good ones on Sprint until now? 2 - slider and smaller screen, last year's Evo.

    And how long will the parts supply last for the Evo? Does TSMC really want to continue producing 65 nm SoCs for few phones?

    And what if you don't want the slider (Shift) and don't want the 3D?

    Yeah - this makes sense - HTC won't leave that money on the table for Samsung, nor should Sprint limit the choices for an Evo Shift+ kinda phone.
