Just for fun, I though to start a thread where we could list our previous cell phones, and accompany with photographs of said phones (so that we could see immediately what was offered by the model). If nothing else, it should give us an appreciation of the evolution of the technology, and maybe give us a nostalgic moment in the process.

My first cell phone, Nokia 3310, circa 2002:

Next, Sony Ericsson T616, circa 2004:

    iPhone 3G, circa 2008:

    HTC EVO 4G, circa 2010::D

I have a friend that still has the Sony t616. I used to have one too. When I got it I couldn't get over how cool it was. Now I look at it and think wow that thing is ghetto

Fourth: (Release day.. 2007???? i think)

    And now Evo :D

was so exicted for the Instinct as it was supposed to be "open dev" and have "super cool" apps released, and it just flopped. Almost got the Pre when it came out last year.. but the button form factor turned me off of it and i'm glad i waited. Was also thinking about Hero a few months ago, but I figured SOMETHING android new would have to be coming to sprint as hero/moment were getting close to 6mo old

    for work:

You guys must be young because my first cell was the old brick phone. God that was back in 1991.

    Here's mine:

Very first phone I got on Cingular Wireless when I turned 18:

I quickly moved to Verizon Wireless after I discover how shitty TDMA can be:
    [IMG]Motorola V120e

Funny when I upgraded to this I thought this was a real high end phone til EVERYONE started getting them:
    [IMG][IMG]Motorola T720c

    [IMG]LG VX6000

After a while Verizon wasn't really cutting it for me (dropped calls in my own house. really now?), so I went to the original AT&T wireless and started off with this LG G4015
    [IMG]

    [IMG]LG L1100

Well it turned out I live in a pretty shitty area for GSM service (like there is a good area), so I went back to Verizon and picked up this heavily locked down Motorola V265
    [IMG]

[IMG]Motorola E815. Interesting phone as it was the first to pick up the Verizon proprietary firmware complete with a full lockdown of stuff. I was one of the lucky ones that got a model that still had the original firmware from Motorola.

After years of getting raped by Verizon ridiculous calling plans I discovered Sprint's much more economical plans and unfortunately joined in the then RAZR craze.

[IMG]My very first smartphone the Motorola Q

[IMG] And this is my current device soon to be replaced by the EVO!!

My first cell phone was a Nokia in 1986. It consisted of a black box the size of big-city telephone directory. This was permanently mounted in the trunk of the car, and cabled to a cradle/handset/hands-free speakerphone which was mounted on the center console in my 1982 Honda Accord. The antenna was mounted on the rear window glass, top center. (Remember those whip antennae with the little coil in the center?) Back then, a subscription was about $50/month with no air-time included. Air-time was priced at about $0.25/minute (and back then, a quarter was worth something!).

Sorry, but I couldn't find a picture of it.

Fun idea for a thread. I've had cell phones for 12 years, and basically upgraded every 2 years. Never really noticed that Verizon is the only carrier I stuck with for more than one upgrade. :D

I'm still rocking my old Moto 2900 bag phone from Sprint. 3Watts baby! I remember going to the club with this and the long shoulder strap swearing I was pimpin in the early 90s, now - not so much :(.

I will be upgrading to an EVO as my next phone. The probably weigh about the same :).
