I have just downloaded a set of Nexus Wallpapers and I would like to use one of them as my lockscreen wallpaper. There used to be an option that came up when choosing your wallpaper asking you if you wanted to use the wallpaper as your lockscreen as well, but this does not come up now.

I have gone to settings > display > lock screen wallpaper, but it only gives me the option to select a wallpaper from the gallery or wallpaper gallery.

Does anyone know how I can change the wallpaper to something other than the stock wallpapers or an image from my gallery?

I am running ICS and have root explorer installed? Does anyone know where the Nexus Wallpapers would have downloaded too? Maybe I could browse to the folder and select it from there. I downloaded the wallpapers from the Google Play Store.

If you open up root explorer and press menu, search, you will be able to search for the wallpaper. Now you know where it is located go to set lockscreen wallpaper from gallery and choose complete using root explorer. You will now be able to found that location and hopefully set it from there.

Can you see the images when you open the gallery?

If it is a compatible image file on any folder on your phone it should be visible in the gallery.

I am running ICS too and the option of setting as lock screen wallpaper is still available from the gallery.

If you download an image from your phone browser it would go to the download folder on your internal sdcard.

Since you say you downloaded from the Play store, I am assuming you downloaded an app. Launch that app and you should be able to access those images.

post the Link to the app on the Play store, maybe then I can tell you better.

I repeat if it is a compatible format image in any folder of the phone your gallery should show it.

    Thanks for your replies.

I have tried doing a search using root explorer, but when I type in the search term and press search the screen goes black and just goes back to asking me where I want to choose an image from.

I cannot see any of the images in the gallery on my phone. They only show up when I open the app and have to choose which image I want to use as my wallpaper.

Here is the link to the app on the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDMsImtvdi5nYWxsZXJ5Lm5leHVzcHJpbWUiXQ..

Sorry buddy, I even installed the app on my phone and tried to locate the images to no avail. You can always download the wallpapers from somewhere else.
Oh one more thing, it consumes resources while running in the background, so I advise you to remove the app :p

Another option is to set it as your main wallpaper scroll to an empty homescreen and take a screenshot. Crop of the bits you don't need with picture editor and use that.

I thought of that but even with nova launcher hiding the notification bar, there was at least the dock that comes in the screenie. Cropping would cause a lot of the image area to be lost, as you would first lose some area in the bottom and then while setting the lock screen wallpaper you would lose more on the sides.
I had installed the app to check for a full screen preview option, but it isn't thereeither.

I don't have that problem as I use go launcher. Press menu, preferences, gesture settings and then set up a gesture function to hide the status bar and dock. Voila a full screen background.

I use go launcher too. I've managed to download the wallpaper I wanted as a .jpg and save it in my gallery to use as the lock screen wallpaper. All is working well.

Thanks for all your help. :)
