Anyone know of a way to change the color of the notification bar on D2 GB? If there is some application to do this or just a theme for D2 GB that has a lighter color notification bar? I'm just looking for something white or really anything not dark.

    Thank you

Check out "UOT Kitchen". If you can extract you framework-res.apk, you can change the notification bar (among other things) to your liking.

I've heard in various places that the notification bar color is no longer in framework-res.apk on gingerbread. Do you know if this is true or where it is? I can't seem to find the right picture file for it.

Pretty sure that's true. The "kitchen" has special instructions for both GB and Froyo Roms (and sense and cyanogen). The file has UI in it. But the "kitchen" has good instructions on how to get the correct file.

Thesea re the files that need to be modified:
    "Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk"

a lot of UI components have been moved into systemUI.apk. And the UOT kitchen previously posted accounts for the new GB setup. Its a great utility I might add.
