Change Swipe to Delete Settings in EMAIL app?

I have marshmallow on a Samsung Galaxy S7, upgrading from an S5.

Two years ago, I somehow got my email (an Exchange account going through the default Android app) to be set such that swiping right on an email deleted it. I can't get that setting now. I noticed that swiping left does it, and I know this might seem silly, but is there a way to change swipe actions? I would also like a swipe left to automatically start a "move" action.

Have you checked the settings of the email app? If there is no setting there, you'll need to get a different email app.

I did go into Settings. Saw nothing of the sort. How is it as it is with my current one, then?

If it doesn't have those settings then you can't change it. Use a different email app if you want that feature.

give "Aqua Mail" a try, it offers a lot of options for stuff like that.

Found same problem with S8, however swiping left works (unlike right before). In case someone ends up here like I did earlier...
