charge or x2...help me decide

being on the original droid since launch, ready for an upgrade and considering the droid x2, charge ....I liked the thunderbolt but hear nothing but trouble with the battery life. I don't live in an area that has 4g yet, but I hope to have it within a year, so that is a consideration.

$249 charge: love the screen, and really love the camera! hdmi is nice but 4g could end up being a waste if Verizon doesn't bring it to my area any time soon??? (Northern NJ)

$149 droid x2: nice sturdy build, decent camera but only has 16gb...dual core should make things snappy...no 4g should it become available any time soon (one bonus for the x2 is that I got the essential bundle on sale for $20 including car dock, desk dock, wall and car charges, hdmi cable and 3.5mm cable) if I don't go with the x2 I could certainly use the hdmi cable, car and desk chargers and easily sell the docks for $20)

Its a hard call. I absolutley love the Charges screen and camera. No comparison. Battery life is good, I am unplugged for 4hrs, and the indicator is still filled. I didnt like TW, so I dl'ed LPP, and the thing is snappy. Ill let those with the X2 convince you there, but compared to my old X, I wouldn't go back. That said, if they announce a date for the GalaxyS2 before my 14 days is up, then this thing is going back.

You in in the same delemia I am. My current thinking is go to Costco and get the Charge and test drive it for a while and if I don't like it then I will buy X2 off contract from VZ and hold off on a discounted phone until the Bionic comes out. This plan gives me 90 days to test drive the Charge.

I don't put stock in reviews much anymore but PhoneDog said the X2 had the best reception, speakerphone, and GPS of any phone recently tested.

However, if you've seen the screen closeup comparison to the X and Charge over at Droid Life, the X2 looks awful.

Both phones are great, the display on the Charge is head above heels better then the X2. Which is why I sent the X2 back even though I love it.

I don't know where in NJ you are but I'm in Dumont and the 4G is great.

I would hold out of DX2 at this time. Just look at DX2 forum here. Already so many software bugs are reported. Also it seems to slow down quickly if you do games, videos and needs to be rebooted. I think Revolution is better alternative to Charge.

yep, in Dumont you are close enough to NY to get good 4g. I'm in NW NJ so I'm gonna be waiting a bit.

They are names of android UI overlay softwares. Android has its basic stock UI but most manufacturers put their own UIs on the phone unfortunately that can't be removed easily.

TW=TouchWiz from Samsung. Default on all samsung androids.
LPP=Launcher Pro Plus. Very nice most famous android UI app that many love.

And there are many mores on the android market.
