Help Charger & Battery Issue

I am have trouble charging my Samsung Moment. It's not quite a battery issue that's why I didn't post it in that thread. Problem is that both charging port and battery and malfunctioning. My charger port has a mind of its own. Only certain chargers positioned in certain ways will charge it. I'm talking about brand new charge cords (no shorts in cord itself) that when plugged in will over work if I play with the port for awhile. Along with the problems actually getting the charging port to work, there is also problems with the battery. The battery has a terrible life using all of the battery conserving settings it drains like crazy. And along with that when I charge my phone with it off it will tell me fully charged many times but when I turn the device on I'm in the RED. Anyone have problems similar to this and find a way to fix them?

This sounds more like a hardware problem and nothing anyone here can assist with. Try taking it into Sprint and see what they say. You should be able to get a Refurbished Moment with no problems, Worth a shot.

Just took it up there hope they will replace it but I noticed that my indicator for the water damage was red. I don't know if they will even with the special MSRP protection I pay on it monthly.

Hope for the best but if there is water damage forget it. You'll probably have to shell out 100$ bucks deduc or hopefully they can get you another one.

make sure you know what the water damage indicator does when wet. Red doesn't necessarily mean it has been activated. My friend's blackberry was red, but turned white with black x's when it had been exposed to humidity.

Im a sprint lead tech on the samsung moment red means liq damage but just because the battery is damaged doesnt mean they cant look at the phone and troubleshoot it that way
