Hello all, I have gone through four wall chargers in the last month. Two enrcell chargers the original and one from a different phone. The outlets cant be bad because everything else is working on the string of outlets. My wireless internet charger seems to charge that modem just fine. Anybody have this problem or any clue what is going on?

    Thanks

Since the chargers are switching supplies, they're current-limited, meaning protected against shorts, so that can't be the problem.

Since they can handle more than the voltage coming out of the wall anywhere, that can't be the problem.

So what are the symptoms? Any current being drawn from the wall? Any voltage at the output pins? If not, any voltage at the output og the wall-wart? (If it's any more complex that that it doesn't pay to troubleshoot any further - you're talking about a $2 device.

The last two chargers I bought were enercell or something like that. Radio shack brand, 20 bucks! I bought two of them in two weeks. The last one was this last sunday. Went to plug the phone in earlier today and it isn't charging the phone. There is no signs no smell nothing that i can see.The original motorola went out about a month ago and it's been happening since. I'm at a loss.

Have you tried a different cable?

I'd use only the Motorola charger. If you call them and tell them that the charger isn't working they should send you another. If not, you can order another from their site.

Are you plugging in to a surge suppressor? Maybe you have surges that are affecting the chargers.

It's possible that it's also the phone. To rule everything out, I would get another stock charger, another cable, and plug it in to a different outlet.

If the symptom is that they simply are not charging ... have you inspected the connectors and sockets at both ends. The phone sockets in particular can gather lint or dirt and prevent a good electrical contact. They can be cleaned wit a sharp toothpick and vacuum cleaner.

the phone is charging when its hooked up to a good charger. My moto X works fine with any charger. So today I bought a surge protector and a new charger so we will see what happens. I talked to Motorola today and they have no clue, they told me to send it back. So i brought one of the bad chargers with me to work. I'm gonna check into that.

Make sure the pins in the port are equi-distant from the top of the port and the bottom of the port. If not, turn the phone off and use a non metallic(preferably but not required) and very gently pry the pins back into position. Then try the charger again. I found this solution worked for me after reading how many people have done this successfully. Be gentle. I personally used a regular metal small screwdriver. When the pins are in the right position it should work. The problem may be that the female plug on the charger is not allowing the pins in but instead the pins are going above or below the female entry position.
The whole thing took me a day of research and 10 seconds to actually get it done. Verizon told me the port was bad and to buy a new phone. Crazy people.
Do it at your own risk but it should work.

Another update, The charger took a shit! This was a cheap charger but it had the light on the wall plug end, so I could actually see that power was on. Well that light is on, and for some reason the phone plug in must be breaking or whatever! I'm at a real loss with this. I can wiggle the charger when plugged into the phone and get it to work temporally. So Why would this charger work great then just do this? I plugged the charger into a few different things and its the same. wiggle it the plug it will charge but only temporary. Just a note when I unplug the charger I did it very carefully as to not wreck anything but I've done that with all my phones.
