I feel dirty just reading about it.I don't even want to be in the same room as that phone!
So you are telling that I have to pay them 220$ for them to sell my data and keep all the revenue? They should give this phone for free and give us a percentage of revenue they make out of our data.
It really is sad to see that millions of people believe on their baseless claims that their products can improve performances. I uninstalled a lot of this crap on my friends and family's phones and the first thing they notice is less stuttering and lag and better battery life. Can't blame this people though becausee in my country a lot of phones come with this junks preinstalled.
There are re-signed versions of the pre-Cheetah QuickPic available that won't show as having updates available from the Play Store. Team BlackOut even has a black-themed version. So what's the consensus for best replacement gallery since Cheetah bought QuickPic?
Clean Master SDK was a stock app on my Oppo F7 as well, until I rooted and removed it, as it couldn't be disabled otherwise. BTW I've also seen it on an S5 and updated Note 3. Samsung calls it "Smart Manager".
Thanks, I'll take a look at those. I'm still using an old version of QuickPic for now, but I'm sure I'll need to move on eventually.Piktures works, has a nice interface, etc. One problem - it doesn't store pix on the SD card if you have one. It uses internal memory. I searched to see if there was a workaround and no go. I was getting pix in triplicate and wondering why. I prefer media on a card if it's available. Means I can pull the card and use any computer to get media files.
Fstop works, too. It uses folders the same way. There is an ad supported version free, but I bought it. Fstop is more like a computer program in some respects - it asks where to save, makes it easy to rename a file - all of that being on one screen.
Also easier to find the info on the picture - what size, is any exif or location data available, which I find handy. I shrink and keep photos that I MMS with just in case I want to use it a few more times, and being abled to add either an s or an m in the name, helps.
Focus is the same. Uses folders. Both paid and free versions.
On all of them, you can hide the folders that you don't need to see. I had to reinstall .nomedia as I didn't want all the birds, trees, plants, weeds, Messier objects in the pictures folder.

EDIT:
Here's a couple of posts of mine about pre-installed Clean Master on phones, including a Samsung S5.

"Too much trash. Please clean up!" .... yeh, on a phone that had just that moment been completely erased and factory reset!Fortunately this phone is very easy to root and doesn't void warranty either, unlike Samsung phones.
That's something I've been wondering about for some time, but never seen anyone actually check thisOut of interest I've been monitoring traffic on my Note 4 using Network Connections and have not yet seen any traffic from the stock Cheetah Mobile app/Smart Manager app. Hopefully the Samsung version is not so malicious.
