Chromecast help

Hi all, I bought a chromecast back in May. All was good untill the chromecast needed an update.
After that the problems started, had to change WiFi router settings to get apps streaming again. That's now working fine.
The issue is now I can't stream video files over say 600 MB to the chromecast, it just keeps saying loading on phone screen and tv goes blank. Small files on the other hand are fine. Never had this issue before chromecast update.

Any help appreciated

How are you casting? What apps are you using?

For local content on my PC, Plex does a pretty good job for me.

Videostream is the best thing ive found for local streaming. cant believe how good it is really. no lag. my pc i stream from is wired to router. i use teamviewer from my phone to start movie or tv show. its just an extension you add to chrome browser. no media server install either!
