Help City/time keep changing to Hong Kong...15 hours away!

One of the times I was in Verizon they replaced my clock with some other clock (which the guy told me FOR SURE would fix the problem...). It wasn't an hour or two later before the clock zipped me back off to Hong Kong. So, that didn't work for me...

Sucks that it's a paid app or it might be worth another try just to see. Hard telling what clock they had you install but if it was another HTC one, I wouldn't necessarily expect it to have worked. Too bad they pulled the FREE Fancy Widget from the market because of it's exact likeness to the HTC clock/weather. A person might stumble across it here and there however:

I don't think other clock widgets will fix the problem if your phone thinks it is somewhere else. Clocks just display the system time.

A lame "fix" you guys could try is to turn off "Automatic" time. Settings | Date & time | <Automatic>

What timezone does your phone think it is in? GMT+8?

Umm...both the HTC and Fancy Widget display user location as a function of the weather portion of the app. And it has been a topic of discussion in many like threads that dumping the HTC clock/weather has worked for people.

You are not alone. Have not hit China yet, but I have been in Iceland, Russia, some place in the Russian Federation, and last night India. If I look at the HTC clock widget for current location, it gives the odd location and that local time. My phone time (upper right hand of status bar) also matches the HTC clock widget time. Obviously, my alarm was off...late for work.

If I reboot my phone, it clears the problem for a bit. However, it can come back at any time.

Is your wireless on? I have the same problem and have found if I turn wireless off it will go back to normal. If that works check the time zone of your wireless router. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, it's happens to me in all situations. Wifi on (connected), Wifi on (not connected), Wifi Off.

Extra note: I even tried out the Virtuous 3.2 ROM/Kernal and I still have the GPS problem

Hey Everyone, the problem has FINALLY been solved. It has to do with GPS either being turned off or very low signal. In which case your Wifi begins looking for networks to determine location. Check out my thread to read up on the issue:
