Do you have to downgrade from cl 14 to root the samsung moment?
Yeah my phone came with cl stock.. I had to downgrade then upgrade and then used zefie's kernel
You don't have to anymore...Zeffie's ZE13 is out and requires a stock CL14 and uses the Sprint tool to do the flashing now.
Pretty awesome work.
Just did the new procedure.
Get the Sprint utility, _follow_ the directions.
Flashed to the Sprint CL14
Followed Zeffie's instructions
Used Sprint utility to flash ZE 13+ release of the kernel
put the setcpu.txt file as recommended on the ZE wiki
Setup all the new speeds.
Rebooted...it's snappier now.
I set max speed for 1600 while charging/plugged in
Too early to say how it will work out, but it all flashed like clockwork.
I didn't link to Zeffie's pages because I don't know all the politics of late and didn't want to stir the pot.
*** Don't do the overclocking, it resulted in instability...read current Zeffie's instructions at http://www.midnightchannel.net and http://wiki.midnightchannel.net/ for current progress and instructions
Doh! Duped my post.
to update the post, SDX also have custom kernels and a custom recovery which don't require downgrading. infact the new recovery, released yesterday, requires the CL14 system.
custom kernel - joeykrim - SDX Kernel - Final - 1.6 - 3/1/2010
custom recovery - Recovery v2.0
