okay first off hello, my first post. I just acquired a htc evo from my brother for free. He said it was rooted with omj, i have been doing research all night and decided i want to try fresh. But when i flashed it to fresh, it still has all of his apps that he had for his son and other random apps. I want to know if i can do a complete wipe and start from a clean slate with zero apps except for the ones that come with fresh?

    thanks in advanced

anytime you flash a rom you should always wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. i use a .zip file that i flash that wipes everything clean. it is called caulkin's format all zip Calkulin\'s_FORMAT_ALL.zip. you just flash it as a rom first. when it is done, you then proceed and flash the rom you are interested in.

also before flashing cualkin's or a rom you should always do a nandroid backup just in case something goes wrong.
