Help clearing data cache without full reset

I have a Razr MAxx and the Wife as the Droid 4. since the ICS update her phone has been acting a bit wonky.

course most of it I caulk up to operator error - but even my Razr had a few issues here and there. Those issues were simply solved by clearing the data cache as opposed to a full bore factory reset.

For my Razr it seemed rather easy - go into recovery mode - select clear data cache - bickety bam - reboot and phone worked better.

So I tried working on her's for a bit to do clear the data cache and hope her's would work a touch better. But to no avail - and short of waiting for the Jelly Bean upgrade i was hoping to make it all better.

So is there a trick to doing this on the Droid 4 - is there a step by step. Because the recovery screen looked and acted different than on my Razr and it hasn't worked yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the post

Does it say anywhere that is specifically cleans the Dalvik cache?

(app prefetch memory).

I was under the impression that the Dalvik cache is only accessible in root or in system recovery. again, I could be wrong and I'm not a developer.

Update: Clean Master didn't work completely.

It did clean up some of the files system and it did clean some reminants (that I thought shouldn't be there).

But the phone still lags on some apps and seems to just act funny in general. IE you press one app and another launches, phone dialer will come up but not let you dial.

and other stuff - bear in mind I'm getting these reports second hand as it is the wife's device.

So I'm still on the hunt for getting into the boot loader mode and doing a wipe cache partition
