I have successfully rooted my Dinc 2.2 using unREVoked but recovery mode just gives me a blank screen with white bars down the sides. The buttons and trackpad do not have any effect. Only way I can get out of the blank screen is to pull the battery. I have ROM manager premium and it says Clockwork 2.5.0.5 is there and the clockwork folder is on the sdcard. I've tried re-flashing Clockwork several times from ROM manager. Everything else works fine. Any suggestions?

I kept trying that and holding it down did eventually reboot the phone without having to pull the battery. Atleast I don't have to crack it open. Still no recovery screen though.

I've re-flashed it several times from ROM manager and it says its successful everytime but the same problem remains. I just tried again for the heck of it but no joy.

If it helps, when I boot holding power and volume down to get to the HBOOT menu it gives "wrong image or no image" as it runs the sd check. Is this normal or does this have something to do with my problem?

do you have a PB31IMG.zip on there? if so , did you format your card to FAT32?

The card is FAT32 but there was no PB31IMG.ZIP on there. I downloaded the file from your link and added it to the card. I rebooted the phone to the HBOOT menu and this time it said wrong image a couple of times (missing .DIAG and something else) but the last line changed to update gift. It then went straight to the blank screen and I had to pull the battery. Another reboot to the hboot menu asked if I wanted to update and I did so. Now if I reboot to hboot and wait on it to do the sd check it finds the img and asks if I want to update everytime. If I choose recovery from the menu it goes back to the blank screen.

I removed all the clockworkmod folders and the pb31img.zip from the sdcard to try unrevoked again. I got the same result. When it gets to the end and is suppose to reboot to recovery mode I get the blank screen and there is no pb31img.zip on my card. No Clockwork folders either. I tried doing it again from ROM manager and that puts the clockwork folder back on the card but that's it. Back where I started.

FYI, I found this on another forum and followed the post from Doug Piston. It worked. I now havethe Clockwork Recovery screen! I just got the phone a couple of days ago and it sounds like it's an lcd issue. It always seemed like clockwork was installed but just wasn't displaying. Now it is.

No Clockwork Recovery after Unrevoked 3.21

I tried the instruction here and it does not work for me. I downloaded the zip file, renamed it and put it on my card (fat 32) and then I went into hboot and when I hit volume up it says files are missing and when I try fastboot it does the same thing. Any suggestions?

I have read several posts on XDA saying that the new v3 (sLCD) screen models are not showing recovery correctly

Found a fix for you guys.

Download this and unzip it in your SDK/tools directory.

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. adb push recovery.img /sdcard/
    3. adb shell
    4. su
    5. flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
    6. reboot
    7.
If you cant get to your phone and all you can get to is the black clockworkmod recov, boot into the black recovery and

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. adb shell
    3. mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard
    4. exit
    5. adb push recovery.img /sdcard/
    6. adb shell
    7. flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
    8. reboot
    9.

    enjoy.

There is no need for all of that. Just rename to PB31IMG and flash through hboot. No adb commands are needed.

This file is also Adrynalyne's work not mine.

Do you have to remove the zip extension or something because I can't get any hboot packages to install via hboot

I took the 16 gig out of my Droid and formatted it on my pc. Then copied all the files from my 2 gig card and ran Hboot. It is working now. Thanks so much man. Big Help.

Also instead of getting another card you can unzip that file and rerun the root tool with the recovery.img from the zip adrynalyne made.
