Hi all. I'm trying to clear my dalvik cache and I've gotten to clockworkmod recovery successfully. Now I'm stuck because it seems my recovery screen is different from all the tutorials...
    It says:
    android system recovery <3e>
    reboot system now
    apply sdcard:update.zip
    wipe data/factory
    reset wipe cache partition

What do I do from here?

Hey guys. I'm also trying to flash clockworkmod recovery. Like the OP, I'm having trouble getting clockworkmod to flash properly through Rom Manager. So if I'm reading the instructions correctly, I'll need to flash a recovery using a terminal emulator.

My question is if there is a difference between the one you recommended above and the different alternative recoveries listed in github? I know iho-vm670-recovery- is suppose to work with the newer optimus v. I believe I have one of the older ones with android 2.2.1.

You ought to read this. Some of it gets a little deep into the techie stuff, but you'll find your answers there.

Thank you Sir. Followed all the steps in that post and got everything to work. Everything was quick once cwm was installed.
