I downloaded and installed ClockWorkMod v5.0.2.6 hosted on A51 w/ the intent of testing the app I've hungered for since reading Hroark13 thread months ago.
Screenshots my be helpful for those wanting to see just what the recovery console is about. I will not be able to answer questions concerning SD partitioning as that can only be address by those dev'ing kernels and making custom ROM's for the precedent. Horack 13 is/has been on the job w/ the Prevail instance of this wonderful app and credit is due him for keeping his thread alive and responsive. My hope is the A51 guru's will be as forthcoming in the credits and future dev'in of the CWM they made available for our Precedent.
Now to my test: I Odin my phone w/ the CWM v5.0.2.6 from A51. Did a backup seen in screenshot. This backup is on the SD card. As long as you dont fudge up your SD card your backups are there to be used.
Odin'ed back to rooted Davew41's Tar/Image. This gave me a generic phone to reinstall all my apps an re do all my Google account setup.. It also cleared my phone back to the generic recovery app not the replacement A51 CWM v5.0.2.6. SOOOOOoooo...
I Odin my phone w/ A51 CWM v5.0.2.6 once again and booted normally to see the generic Davew41 Android phone ready to be configured.. but wait.. i made a backup ..
Booted back into CWM v5.0.2.6 and did my recovery and shutdown my phone and restarted into my wonderful familiar phone that was the result of my previous backup via CWM v5.0.2.6
Long story: Functional recovery and exactly what I expected. BACKUP/RECOVERY

ACCESS CWM w/ phone off.. HOLD Vol UP + PWR until into recovery then release. ENJOY!
