Update about MMS... I sent and received some so it does work sometimes. It's just spotty which isn't normal for my service area. And same roaming indicator off issue, even after toggling the radio.
Yup, tried that. Didn't work I'm playing around with some other settings now and hoping for the best. I'm dying to use this as my daily!
@Andrew Fisher Although I have not installed this ROM and I'm not exactly certain what is wrong, but a really "stupid" workaround for the Camera crashes I have used on other CM/Phone combos: 1. Open your preferred camera app and aim it at what you want a picture of. 2. Instead of clicking the capture button, use the screenshot shortcut. LOL. Note: I have not installed/tested this with THIS ROM/PHONE combo, but it has worked for me on other phones using CM. Yes you may need to do some cropping, but it's better than not being able to take a picture the way you want it to look. If anyone can give me a scale on how "daily-able" this ROM currently is that would be great? I have read through the thread and it seems pretty much there, but with me being limited on time I can't really install a new ROM and then restore a backup. Thanks,
Depends on your needs. If you can do without a fully working camera/guaranteed MMS, its awesome. Go for it.
Does this ROM have Apollo music player? That's cm specific, right? And does anyone know if the camera app is the same as cm11? Also seemed to be custom, and I loved the interface better than stock
If you're not getting MMS / LTE, try the following: 1. Dial *#*#4636#*#* 2. Find where it says "Turn off radio," and tap twice to toggle it off, then back on. If that doesn't work, continue: 3. Find where it says "Set preferred network type" 4. Select "LTE/GSM auto (PRL)" from the dropdown Mine is on Virgin, not GSM, but that's what it took to get it working for me. I found a handy app called 4G notification that's $1 in the play store. Not affiliated with them but it might be nice to have when testing ROMs. Thanks to @hasib86 for the dialer code and original instructions. Edited to include original instructions
If you guys can get NFC working I will love you even more! Also is the LED light working in this ROM? EDIT: Also how's GPS and Google maps? I remember being on a ROM on my MotoG and whenever I would try to navigate anywhere the app would freeze and I would have to reboot my phone.
Hey so it seems like even when I flash the new ROM, the rear camera doesn't work. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
your the man @Bad_MOFO_33 thank you so much for your commitment and quick turn arounds for help with this!!
Thanks, but its not just me. It's our whole community here, without feedback and support, I probably would have never tried building any roms. I wish we had more people willing to build for our device, as we are limited to just a few. But now we have some good starting points to work off of (CM11 & CM12).
I'm willing to help build also but I am using Linux Mint 17.1 full time, I haven't really tried because i thought I had to use ubuntu 14.10 to do it. I'm willing to give it a shot too if that would help
I know that you are probably pretty busy right now, but is there any way I could ask you to send me a PM with a how to on how to compile and build this for our phone? I have plenty of space to do it. I just don't want to choke up the thread if it isn't necessary but I'd be happy to join the cause today if I could. Thanks @Bad_MOFO_33 and all the others helping on this!!! =)
This was the problem. I did flash different versions of TWRP but this simulation setting was selected by default on all of them. Unchecked It and a recovery plus ROM flash went smooth. So far I've had no force closes or reboots, even in settings. Txt and calls are working fine after using the dialer code and toggling radio. CM themes installed without crashing the phone, charging worked last night. I'll check out mobile data when I get somewhere with reception....but so far its fantastic! To the daily driver question : I'm going to use it as such until the next build. Only thing nagging me is some keyboard lag/freezing but I'll play around with more things today. Thanks Badmofo!
how to disable onscreen nav bar or reduce the size But still very good build , definitely a daily .No issues , smooth and fast . looking forward to updates if onscreen nav bar cannot be disabled then how to make it smaller ?
Couple screen shots with Smart Launcher and a CM black theme. There are several apps and xposed modules that let you change the nav bar size or make it transparent. You can delete or move the buttons in the settings. My hardware home button doesnt work but the capacitive ones do so I may just have the home button off to the left, delete the others, and see about making the nav bar transparent. //Camera360 working just fine, including flash, so ill just use that instead of stock. ///One more edit: connecting to my pc isnt letting me see my sd card to transfer files. Not sure if this was known or if there is a workaround i didnt apply yet.
This may not be an official solution but I booted into twrp and mounted usb from there and I was able to access my files and transfer files back and forth
