i dont use rom manager to install anything, i just dont trust it.

i use droid 2 bootstrapper, cause i like to know i am wiping the data and cache, and not relying on someones coding skills to do it for me

That's fine for the DX, but most other Android devices only have RM.

You can also boot into recovery with RM and do thing the old fashioned way.

i think i figured it out. I may have the wrong version of gapps..

That would make a difference.

yeah im playing with my sisters old captivate, and it bricks about everytime i try and load a different rom on it, its the worst device ever made, when booting to cwm all i see is the broadcasting signal distortion all over the screen. the phone is garbage, maybe im doing something wrong, but i know how to flash roms, wipe data and cache, install rom, booting back to cwm good luck, it will not show you a thing! and requires you to flash it back to stock by being in downloader mode.
