Color banding on gradients?

Well I was one of the lucky ones to get my order in right away and my Nexus 4 was delivered yesterday afternoon. It's been great so far, but I've been noticing some color banding on gradients across multiple pictures. It seems most noticeable when it's my wallpaper, and it's noticeable on all brightness settings.

Is anyone else seeing this?​

If you could explain what color banding and gradients are (derp) I'd be happy to check. You mean pictures that were taken with the Nexus 4?

A couple of the included wallpapers have slight banding in them where the colour gradients. I've not noticed in anything else.

I'm inclined to say it's definitely those 1 or 2 pictures...

I think he means where the 2 colors meet in a wallpaper and instead of fading to the other color it shows a line that looks pretty ugly and cheap. Sorry of I didn't explain it right but I've had an older phone that did that no matter which wallpaper I put.
