Colour change

can anyone change the background on the following picture for me to a darker background, i really have no idea on where to start. Thanks in advance

No ,i used Gimp

You Used "gimp" to the color thing? I can't even find that effect. Where is it?

It is in the colours tab,then Hue saturation,after inverting the main image
