Please bear with me, I've searched all over various forums for solutions to my problem, and all of them lead me to a dead end somewhere. So, I have an Incredible SLCD, and I was planning on rooting and putting CM on it. It had 2.3.4, and when I attempted to root it with the latest Unrevoked (3.3 I think?), I received the "version too new" error I followed a guide to place it back to 2.2 using unrevoked 3.22, but unrevoked failed in the middle, causing my phone to go to into the bootloop (boots, shows htc incredible screen, flashes off and does the whole thing again) Using the hboot menu, I attempted to use recovery, but I fear I may have accidentally wiped the backup, and so now I can't restore (tells me it couldn't find it). Additionally, recovery gives me the black screen with two vertical white lines, so I had to use ddms to see the screen on my computer. So, I followed the guide incredibleforum to get back to stock, but after booting and loading the img, I get the "Main Version is older! Update Fail!" message. The RUU method on that doesn't work either, presumably because the usb can't connect since I can't boot in. This is where I'm stumped. basically, I just want to get a stock 2.2 rom onto the phone, so I can attempt to root and place CM on it, or really anything to make it functional again. To make it clear, the phone is Incredible SLCD, with S-ON, un-rooted (afaik, since unrevoked failed) I know these threads show up all the time, but I can't find anything to help me with my problem. Thanks in advance!
