After working well for months, all of a sudden my computer will not recognize my phone - any phone - as a storage device (used to come up as an F drive). It sees the phone as a connected device in Device Manager, but doesn't show up in File Explorer. I have two Android phones (a Moto G and a Blu Life One X), and it's the same for both. Any ideas?

    I had this problem before.

Try different USB cords. I went through about 5 one time and finally got my phone recognized with a new usb cord from another phone.

Also make sure you have the correct drivers for your device

Is your PC on Windows 10?

Problem solved - apparently an auto update turned off the "use phone as USB storage" function without my knowledge (or so I was told). After poking around a bit I was able to turn the function back on, so all is well. Thanks for the input.
