    Hello everyone,

Yesterday I bought a moto G4 and something came to my attention. Whenever I'm on wifi the 4G is greyed out. I've always owned Sony xperia phones since 2011 and I've never seen that icon. Does it mean that it's turned off on wifi? Since I've looked on my contract and how much MB I had left and 20mb has been used since yesterday.

Is there also a way to get rid of it?

On my HTC the LTE icon disappears when I connect the WiFi (signal bars still there, of course), because the phone uses WiFi for its internet connection (which is normal behaviour for all phones). Disconnect from WiFi and it reappears. So it sounds like Moto have a different way of presenting this.

You could get rid of it by rooting, modifying framework-res.apk (system app) by replacing the icon with a fully-transparent one and replacing the existing app. Nothing less than that would do it (a custom ROM in which this mod has been made for you - if it exists - would be less work, but still requires root).
